[Existential Dread]
Analogous to a symphonic composition, it is a scherzo, a fast piece with an energetic 125 BPM in the main key of F minor. As a purely instrumental piece, it is the most electronic of the four movements and at the same time breaks least with the compositional precepts of symphonies.
In Dread, I pick up sounds, melodies and rhythmic fragments from the first two movements and process them further. Driving, looped synths, gloomy basses and many small percussive elements interweave to create a dense, tension-filled atmosphere that discharges after an intense build-up with a bass drop, entirely in the electronic manner.
In terms of content, we find ourselves on the run in Dread (from inner demons or quite concretely from danger outside). We are overcome by naked panic, where words are obsolete and the body takes over. Dread is fast, instrumental and punchy, the energetic climax of the symphony. Our fear is now almost unbearable and discharges through running, screaming and adrenaline

Between atmospheric sound carpets and her sometimes classical, sometimes modern voice, she builds up arcs of tension waiting to be discharged in endorphin-rushing catharsis. ... more
